Cat Cafe

Another big tick next to the things I want to do before leaving Korea. Visiting the cat cafe in Seoul :)

Cat cafes are very popular in Japan but are a rage here in Korea! Taking care of pets like you would do your own child is very common here. I see people carrying dogs in dog carriers like you would carry a baby- protective and concerned, dogs in prams being pushed by their devoted human and the best of all, all the outfits that are available for the pets for all seasons- including hats, socks, sweaters... oh! so cute~ There are also pet hotels where the pets are housed with utmost care while their humans are away, salons where pets are given makeovers and pampered beyond compare. Cat cafe is just an extension for those people who desperately want to own a pet, cuddle with them, pet them and love them but do not do so for whatever reason. Just like me...

KATZ in Korea

KATZ in Korea

My girlz enjoyed their day making masks at the Suwon Korea Hannok Experience.

The site is a wonderful way to see traditional Korean culture and buildings and even experience some activities for yourself.

Dont forget the camera !

There’s a cat cafe in Cheonan, Korea. It’s called...

Strays

Cats: The internet is full of them. So, in a vain attempt to pull more traffic to Monkeyboy Goes, I’ve finally stooped to this….

Through the course of my monkeying around in Asia, I have come across many a stray cat and dog. Whenever I see one I can’t help but whip the camera out.

For those with a keen eye, you’ll notice that some of the furry creatures captured here are far from stray…. Whatever, I needed a title.

Waiting For A Second Chance

Located just southwest of Seoul, Asan Animal Shelter is a no-kill facility that provides refuge for stray, abandoned and abused dogs and cats.

Owned by Mr. Park, the shelter is assisted by volunteers who work to rehabilitate animals and find them homes.

Cat Cafe ♥ Cat’s Attic in Hongdae

The other day we had our lovely friend Jessica visiting Seoul from LA on business for the weekend ♥  Thankfully she had a bit of free time and really wanted to check out a Korean Cat Cafe, so we were happy to take her to one ^^  actually, Nara and I had not stopped by a Cat Cafe since we bought our kitty “Milk”, so we were way past due for a visit.

Japanese Cocoa with Korean Kitty Goodies

This week I bought a new really cute kitty mug and some amazing Japanese hot cocoa mix from the store. Since it was imported it was not cheap, so I kept my fingers crossed that it would be yummy!  I really like hot cocoa (yeah I know it is summer, I like ice choco milk too! lol) but here in Korea most of the shops make it all watery and gross.

Meet the Cats of Jetoy~ Choo Choo Cats Inspiration!

Naturally the studio Jetoy behind the famous line of Choo Choo Cat products here in Korea MUST like cats, right?  That would be correct!

♥ ♥ ♥

At first I thought these cuties were studio/office cats, but judging by the photos these are the artists/designers personal cats ♥  Having Cats as pets is still kind of a new thing here in Korea with the younger generation, so it is not often you see someone own several like this! I wish I could just bring home kittens for “work” or”inspiration” hehe~
