I took a picture every day in December. It was a fantastic end to an incredible year. Looking back at a year of pictures, I feel blessed when I think back on all the good times.

As usual, I’ll be taking the year off from taking photos every day since I’ve completed another Project 365. In my personal and professional life, I’ll be leaving Cheonan and starting a new job in Busan. Hopefully when I start taking pictures every day in 2015, you’ll find me there.

I took a photo every day in November. Things were steadily busy.

First of all, I saw Busker Busker in Seoul, and then, Shigeto in Cheonan. Also, made some weekend trips to Daegu and Busan. Celebrated Peppero Day with my students and Thanksgiving with friends. No Korean national holidays this month so I felt like I worked a lot, but I like my job so that’s okay. I have started looking for a new job as I’d like to move in March.

I have a lot of blog posts in the hopper, especially since I’ve received so many questions about living in Cheonan and working at a hagwon, so look for those.

I took a photo every day in October. The weather is rapidly cooling down. Work has continually been unstable, and by the end of the month, I had all new coworkers. Good trips every weekend, including Gwangju, Seoraksan, and Busan for my favorite annual fireworks show. Started my job search and looking to move cities in March.

I was aiming for “Out of it” October, wasn’t I? Well, with two months left for this photo project, I’m going to give up and just admit that it’s been a busy year.

I took a photo every day in September. Really, really good things happened this month. A trip with friends to the Korean water park, Caribbean Bay, my first time at Korean Burning Man (aka Korea Burn), Chuseok vacation in Bijindo, and two trips to Busan. A few rainy days, but some stellar weather on the beach. Several more trips planned in October, but things are winding down as 2013 comes to a close. I think.

I took a photo every day in August. Somehow even busier than the last month. A trip to Hong Kong with my mom, several birthday celebrations, and unexpected dates with a new boy. September wasn’t very simple, but maybe I can now aim for “Out of it” October.

I took a photo every day in July. An extremely busy month. Going away and birthday parties along with a trip to Busan, traditional Korean dress photo shoot, Belinda visiting from the US, Boryeong Mud Festival, Ansan Valley Rock Festival, and a trip to Hong Kong with my mom. With my birthday coming up in August, I’ve already given the next month the nickname of “Simple September.” I need to rest my mind, body, and… heart.

I took a photo every day in June. Trying to find balance in everything I do, but failing just a bit. The heat, humidity, and mosquitoes in Korea are slowly killing me, but I still love it here.

I took a photo every day in May. I’m at a loss about what to say about this month. I had some amazing experiences, ate great food, and spent time with excellent people. Yet, I’m not meeting all my personal goals in regards to fitness or financial saving/spending.

On one hand, I want to pay off debt (e.g. school loans). On the other hand, I am only young once, and I want to embrace and enjoy all the good experiences I can. Also I want to diet and exercise regularly, but I also want to be a good teacher and friend. I imagine I’m going to continue to have some internal struggles and debates with myself, as I strive to find some balance.

I took a photo every day in April. The weather is warming up, so all the flowers are in bloom. Goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway: Korea is beautiful in the Spring.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about my past relationships, romantic or otherwise. It is interesting to see peoples’ true colors in the last year. Whether I’ve moved away, physically and/or emotionally, the right people stay in my life. To those that continue to stay in my life one way or another, even if I don’t say it all the time, I love you. I notice when you reach out to me and I know that you care about me. I want you to know that I appreciate you.

I took a photo every day in March. With my first month back in Korea behind me, I feel so happy and blessed. Having just received word that my Master’s diploma will be arriving next month, I feel overwhelmed and proud of my accomplishments. Doesn’t hurt that work has been rewarding and my weekends have been packed full of fun either. Cheers.
