Now, I have lived abroad for quite some time and never earned enough to qualify for paying the US's ridiculous tax when not living there but I know that it has been the case for a while that even if you earn nothing you still have to send in a 1040 file, (there was a time I was earning next to nothing). I know I have to go through the FBI to get a crimimal background check and I was wondering if this lack of 1040 filing makes me 'criminal' or if it would come up at all? I am actually more than a bit worried about this so any advice would be appreciated here on this matter.
I am going to be back in Korea soon, on a tourist visa. My last e2 expired after I finished my last job and now I'm in the process of applying for a new one.
I changed my tourist (c-2 i think) visa into an e-2 within korea for my last job with epik and as far as i remember I was able to get all the required documents within korea.
I already have my crim check (will get it notarized at the canadian consulate)
I think this type of advertisement(if not a public school) is indecent, especially using those words in the title. It is misleading to potential employees, could potentially waste their time, or even cost them a really good opportunity. It is like the University jobs(some not) posted on ESL sites.
I am applying for a teaching position through EPIK, and I was wondering if they require health records from my previous care providers in the USA? I haven't seen mention of it, but I thought it might be part of the health inspection
I have been seriously considering going to South Korea for a year or two after a mate of mine told me that I could do really well there with my qualifications.
I have a BA, an MA and am in the process of acquiring an MSc; I also have a CELTA certificate and experience teaching in other countries.
He told me I could get a job at a uni working less than 20 hours a week with large amount of holiday time to boot.
How true is this? and what kind of job could I get with my qualifications?
I guess things are getting really desperate these days. This is probably the last ditch effert for any place looking for a body. High functioning? did you use google translate or another brainfart program? please!!!
People this is a standard hogwan, I repeat. It's a hogwan. They take any kid, it's based on profit, it's a business.
Ask them why they need a teacher ASAP? there did the last one go? Watch and listen for the squirming.
So I was thinking about writing a new article for my blog based on Korean students and how they react/what they say that we would deem as peculiar behaviour. Please share your experiences here:
Will an online tefl certificate help me in any way here? I have almost 3 years experience working in a hagwon and will try to find a Uni or public school job next spring.
Will it make a difference on my resume that I have an online tefl certificate? I am not interested in doing one of the month-long TESOL classes and would just like to get an online cert so I can do it while working here.
Would love to hear your opinions, especially from those who already have an aforementioned job.
